Sus hijos, que ya califican para un transplante de manos de tanto rascarse los gobelinos, tampoco estudian ni trabajan, y con $600 pesos apenas podrían pagar un tercio de los lentes negros de Florencia, pero no viene al caso. O sí. Hay miles de motivos para que alguien no estudie ni labure y no siempre es pasar necesidades. La falta de estudios superiores no anula la posibilidad de acceder a un empleo y cualquiera que sepa escribir su nombre y sumar de a tres dígitos califica para cajero de supermercado.
Estudiar se hace por ganas, por voluntad. Las ganas de estudiar las desencadena un modelo de vida, una aspiración a seguir. Y las aspiraciones van de la mano de la realidad. En un país en el que se puede ser propietario sólo si se es hijo único y los padres se mueren, la aspiración personal se ve limitada a lo que se puede alcanzar: un alquiler, pilcha, salir de joda, un autito.
Antes admiraba a los que se pasaban la vida estudiando, metiendo posgrados, doctorados y aprendiendo tres idiomas mientras trabajaban en empleos que no tenían nada que ver con lo que estudiaban. Ahora los miro con ternura. Es envidiable la fe que tienen en que algún día podrán ser grosos en lo que hacen, cuando hace tiempo que la meritocracia se convirtió en un concepto atacable, maligno y sinónimo de garca. Nueve lucas para arrancar a alquilar un dos ambientes apto profesional por el que pagaran dos lucas y media hasta que pinte un aumento del 20%. Cinco lucas en una computadora medio pelo, otros quince mil en un mobiliario que aparenta ser presentable y, si se estudió alguna carrera con matrícula, lo que haya que pagar de licencia. El que no puede bancarlo por unos cuantos años, termina rapiñando un puesto de cagatintas en una repartición oficial. ¿Quién en su sano juicio puede apostar a romperse el culo estudiando?
La derrota cultural es total y lograron imponer el imperio de la dialéctica más pedorra que pueda existir, donde no se busca la síntesis y sólo hay luchas de antítesis que no se sabe a qué se oponen. Lo conseguimos de un modo tan brutal que hasta nos da miedo señalar como malo las políticas del gobierno. Criticamos los resultados y el manejo de la política aplicada, compartimos notas de cráneos que afirman fervientemente que el problema no fue que nos metieron al Estado hasta en las cubeteras del congelador, sino que fueron corruptos. O sea, que en realidad no nos jode el kirchnerismo, sino los kirchneristas.
La rebeldía se convirtió en el conformismo de pedir un Estado que regule hasta qué numero tengo que apretar en el control remoto para ver un canal de cable. Más Estado y más militancia es el sinónimo de la rebelión contra la nada. Frente a esta realidad, la opción que se planta como más rebelde es la de los que dicen que son corruptos, pero que el Estado tiene que estar presente hasta para definir si la milanesa lleva provenzal o no. La rebeldía del siglo XXI es el conformismo homogéneo e igualitario en el que quien pretende ser mejor que otro, es tildado de clasista.
«Tenés que comprometerte más», piden muy sueltos de cuerpo gente que está tan al pedo que lo único que tienen para hacer es tratar como mascotas a los demás, en vez de dedicar algo de ese esfuerzo a estar menos al pedo. «En vez de quejarte, participá», afirman los castrados ideológicos que aún no entendieron que el país no es el consorcio de un edificio y que nuestro sistema es representativo por algo: para que los que saben se dediquen a arbitrar los medios necesarios para que los que sabemos de otras cosas nos dediquemos a producir.
Cualquiera que tenga un ingreso legal en este país, es socio fifty-fifty con el Estado, aunque no lo quiera y aunque en su vida haya conocido ni a un concejal del partido de Tapalqué. ¿Acaso no hay mayor compromiso participativo que seguir trabajando a pesar de esa perversa ecuación? Pagamos contra nuestra voluntad por servicios que no existen y pagamos muy a nuestro pesar para suplir esos mismos servicios ¿Encima tenemos que «participar» para que eso no pase más?
Ninguno de los pibes que participan y se comprometen con tareas «sociales y gratuitas» puede explicar porqué cada año tienen que caminar más cuadras para llegar de una punta a la otra de ese insulto que llamamos villas. Si existiera la chance de señalar esa realidad, la respuesta consistirá en culpables que pueden mutar entre la patria sojera, las corporaciones mediáticas, la clase media egoísta -como si todavía existiera- o los resabios del neoliberalismo, y todo en una misma argumentación.
Incógnitas sobre cómo puede un flaco de 18 años pertenecer a una familia sin laburo por culpa del neoliberalismo en un país que dice tener pleno empleo, se suma a preguntas como en qué cabeza entra que se deba festejar con un estampillado que el país del crecimiento a tasas chinas necesite de la AUH casi 5 años después de implementada y a casi once del inicio de la gestión kirchnerista, o cómo se puede ser pobre teniendo empleo. Preguntar cualquiera de estas cosas, califica para una remake de Cosmos de Carl Sagan.
No pueden hacer frenar los trenes y pretendemos que frenen la inflación y el dólar. No logran que una sola empresa funcione y queremos que arreglen algo. No pueden garantizar que haya luz en verano ni gas en invierno. Saqueos, policías hambreados, pibes que manguean en cadena, gente que duerme en la calle de a tres por cuadra, muertes sádicas en choreos cotidianos, créditos hipotecarios para el que demuestra que no lo necesita, sistemas de salud colapsados y una presión tributaria escandinava para una calidad de vida subsahariana.
Nos dijeron que venían a poner un Estado presente y nos trajeron un Estado que nos abre la heladera, nos putea por no tener cerveza y pregunta que hay para comer mientras ocupa el sillón del living. Pero eso sí, presente.
